‘DANCING WITH THE ANCESTORS’-

Shamanic Creativity Retreat

for Women

Friday 29th-31st of October 2010                                 SAMHAIN/ Halloween

  at Tilton House, Firle (near Lewes)

‘Looking up gives light, but at first it makes you dizzy.’

Rumi

Here’s an old divination ritual I found if you fancy trying it out at Samhain:

‘The Apple and the Mirror’

Before the stroke of midnight, sit in front of a mirror in a room lit only by one candle or the moon. Go into the silence, and ask a question. Cut the apple into nine pieces. With your back to the mirror, eat eight of the pieces, then throw the ninth over your left shoulder. Turn your head to look over the same shoulder, and you will see and in image or symbol in the mirror that will tell you your answer.

OCTOBER WILDWING  NEWSLETTER

‘The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream.

The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg;

and in the highest vision of the soul, a waking angel stirs.

Dreams are the seedlings of realities’.      James Allen

Dear Creative Travellers!
The wheel of the year is turning once again, the days are growing shorter and Samhain/ Halloween is just around the corner, marking the beginning of the Celtic New year, of a new cycle.

Samhain literally means ‘summer's end’,

(although these are still deliciously warm days!!)

a time in which the last harvest is brought,

games like apple bobbing are played and large fires are lit.

With Christianity, Samhain was changed to Hallowmas, or

‘All Saints' Day, to commemorate the souls of the dead

and indeed it is a time when

the ‘veil between the worlds is thinnest’,

we honour our ancestors, contemplating our roots

and the long lines of shoulders we are standing on.

In the darkness of this time lies the

promises of new beginnings,

the stirring of the seeds below ground.

It’s a good time to DREAM, listen deeply to what wants to stir,

a time for divination,

to review and envision

for new things to come.

After some hectic weeks I am looking

forward to the

DANCING WITH THE ANCESTORS’ Shamanic Creativity retreat at Tilton house.

This year we will be working in a large warm yurt If you would like to give yourself some quiet, nourishing and magical time, get in touch I have a few places still available. It would be lovely to have you on board.

Happy sunny Autumn days!

Warmest wishes!
Eva

This Retreat offers a safe and exciting space to dive fully into the centre of

       our creativity to celebrate your unique expressions through the ancient

       practice of the shamanic journey, ritual, mask, creative media, dance and

       working with and in nature.

    Tapping into the energy of this special time of

    Samhain/ Halloween/ All Souls

    when the ‘veil between the world is thinnest’,

    the end of summer and beginning of the Celtic New Year,

    this retreat will support you to:

·     strengthen the connection to your creative power;

·     sensitively work with possible obstacles and hesitations we might encounter;

·     explore tools to ground creativity in our lives and establish daily practice;

·     make space to honour, celebrate and affirm your unique creative talents and

      expressions within a circle of women.

    Being led by the shamanic journey we will ground the teachings in working

    with creative media such as clay, mask-work,

    dance, painting, writing and Ritual. We will also work closely with the beautiful

    environment in and around Tilton house. We

    will go on a ‘walk with intention’ and, weather permitting, will create a fire ritual of

    release and affirmation.

Practicalities:

We start Friday at 5pm and end Sunday at 4pm.

You do not need any artistic skills or experience in any creative media only an openness to explore your own creative potential. There will be an introduction to shamanic work and shamanic journeying in the beginning of the retreat, however some previous experience in shamanic work is helpful, as this workshop it is not primarily an in-depth introduction to Shamanism and shamanic practice.

Please call me to discuss.

I am happy to offer an introduction to shamanic journeying with a concessionary rate before the retreat.
