'JOURNEY INTO THE WILD CENTRE OF

CREATIVITY'-

on-going Creativity Coaching groups

Whether you are at the beginning path of

connecting or re-connecting with your creativity

or a seasoned artist, Creativity Coaching can support

you in various ways: exploring and unblocking obstacles

and patterns that might hinder you in fulfilling your

creative dreams, addressing practical, existential or

spiritual issues and celebrating your achievements.

These small groups offer a supportive and nurturing environment to work with hands-on creative exercises and space to address issues that might stand in the way of fulfilling your creative potential, such as procrastination, burn-out, loss of meaning etc.

Every session will include some creative and stimulating exercises, such as free- writing, mapping, collage, drawing, clay as well as time for discussion and exchange. We look at issues such as time-management, balance, how to avoid burn-out, strategies for regular creating etc.  and you are encouraged to commit to individual ‘homework’ in between sessions. The groups are on-going and a commitment for ten weeks initially is essential.

No artistic skills are needed only a willingness to work within a group and use creative media!

The groups are running weekly @ WILDWING at BLANK studios, Portslade

with a maximum of 6 participants each.

Tuesdays 6 pm to 7.30 pm (2 places still available)

NEW: MORNING GROUP STARTS ON TUESDAY, 21st of APRIL 09
Tuesdays between 11am and 12.30!

Cost: £150 for 10 sessions,  some concessions available.

'Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it! Boldness as genius, power and magic in it.'   Goethe

March sounds full of expectant, excited birds and I’m thrilled with the blackbirds that my partner has successfully attracted into our garden after lots of special, enticing food!

March smells differently too: earth loosening and letting through new buds- and what is exactly the smell that reminds me of promise?

March’s outfit is still somewhat subdued and has a long way to go till May’s exuberant frock: when I look into our garden there’s a lot of waiting work looking back at me: re-potting, cutting and scrubbing away the winter muck! And suddenly everything seems to scream for a clear out and clean up!

So, maybe March is CLEAR-OUT time!? Time to have a good look in that cupboard, that desk, that wardrobe, the garden, yes, that body! Chose what we want take into our spring and summer and what we rather leave behind. I guess not a lot of new can come in if all is stuffed out with the old! Ok,I get it but if it were but that easy!

Well, lets start somewhere  small to air those closets! And I go with a quote which a member of a shamanic day I recently attended put together loosely from G.B Shaw:

‘If you can’t get rid of the skeleton in your cupboard, dance with it!’

So, get your dancing shoes on , put that music on and swing that dancing is a clue!

Here some things if you want to give your Creativity a boost:

‘FIRE SONG OF THE HEART-

A SHAMANIC CREATIVITY RETREAT FOR WOMEN- BELTANE, 1-3rd of May 09

at Tilton House Firle

This Retreat offers a safe and exciting space to dive fully into the Centre of our creativity, to celebrate our unique expressions through the ancient practice of the shamanic journey, as well as voice work, Ritual, other creative media such as collage, mask-work, clay and working closely with and in nature.

We are working with the special celebratory energy of Beltane to support and nurture our journey. The ‘Fire Song of the Heart’ Retreat will focus on discovering the voice and song as a way into the shamanic journey and to strengthen us in our creative expression and personal power.

All retreats  aims to:

strengthen the connection to our creative power;

sensitively work with possible obstacles and hesitations we might encounter;

explore tools to ground creativity in our lives and establish daily practice;

make space to honour, celebrate and affirm our unique creative talents and expressions within a circle of women.

On this retreat shamanic journeys  will be at the core of our exploration and will guide us in this process. The journeys may include a journey to the ‘spirit of our creativity’ to enquire how we can connect more deeply with our creative dreams and ambitions; how to deal with possible obstacles and a journey to find a daily ritual to honour our creativity and to ask for a personal ‘power song’.

We will also draw from the Northern European shamanic tradition of Seidr, which uses voice and song as a way into the shamanic journey. We will be space to enjoy the beautiful environment in and around Tilton house.

We will go on a ‘walk with intention’ and weather permitting create a fire ritual of release and affirmation.

This retreat can be booked on its own or with one or two other retreats.

No prior experience in voice work nor any artistic skills are necessary, only an openness to explore your own creative potential. An introduction to shamanic journeying is given, however some previous experience in shamanic work is helpful as the retreats are not primarily in-depth introduction to shamanic practice. Please enquire!

CALLING all Arts Therapists, Counsellors, Therapists and

Health professionals! If you have ever been interested in

MASK- WORK and wanted to explore how this fascinating media

can be integrated in your work, the upcoming 2 day course on

Therapeutic Mask work will give you an excellent in-depth introduction!

‘Mask of Power’-

Introduction to Therapeutic Mask work’

CPD Course as part of ‘Lets Engage’ Programme-

Roehampton University, London

20th and 21st of March 09

Cost: £160; CPD certificates available

This workshop offers an in-depth exploration of the broad possibilities of

Mask-work within therapy and self development through experiential learning,

mask-making from different materials, mask-play as well as case

presentations of mask-work with various client groups in different contexts.

Masks have fascinated people for thousands of years- from the use of masks

in shamanism, carnival to theatre and therapy, masks have been recognised

as mysterious and potent objects of transformation, play and healing.

Mask-work is a powerful and playful way to explore aspects of the self and to

look behind the ‘masks of everyday life’. Masks invite us to connect or

re-connect with our creativity and with parts of ourselves that have been

lying hidden, dormant or forgotten: facets that might want to be recognised,

brought to light and ‘show their faces’.

Besides a practical introduction to therapeutic mask-work the course will

include case studies to demonstrate possibilities of mask work within the

area of adult mental health, women affected by HIV, children and for

self-development. Mask-making techniques will be introduced such as

plaster-of Paris masks (half or full mask), masks out of clay, ‘junk’ and

natural materials and space will be given to explore some mask-play

and ways into the mask.

In a safe environment the course gives the opportunity to ‘look behind the

masks of everyday life’ to explore possible obstacles in a playful and creative

way and connect with your ‘Mask of Power’.

An overview over the origin of masks and the historical, anthropological,

spiritual and creative use of masks will also be given.

The workshop does not require any previous experience of working with

masks nor any artistic experience.
